REVIEW: Planes

Built in the World of Cars (But not by the same mechanic), is Planes. We follow a working plane with big dreams named Dusty Cropduster (Dane Cook). A one prop airplane with dreams of getting out of the dirt and racing in the open air.

Taking to the skies, he turns talent and a little luck into a qualifying position in the big race. Now his hurdles are the professional planes from around the world who want the number 1 position. That and he's the only plane with a fear of heights.

The wild blue yonder becomes his playground as he works to show everyone that it's not how you were built, but what you do with what you are that counts.

This review is going to be short and sweet because the more I write, the more I'll nitpick. If you are expecting a full "Cars-esque" theatrical release, throw that idea out the window. This movie is not Pixar grade. Yes the graphics are about on par and the 3D is ok, but if you are older than 10 years old you are probably going to find yourself overthinking when you should be over-joying. If you need an outing for the kids, go with Despicable Me 2 and leave Planes until the DVD can fly into your player.

Grade: C-
